During my senior year at Wesleyan, I started making my own chili oil (an idea borne out of cravings and boredom). It seemed like everyone was doing a DIY cooking project then, so I began to trade jars for homemade pickles or sourdough starter.
After the 2021 Atlanta shooting, I made additional batches to raise money for AAPI anti-hate groups.
I also created a recipe companion zine while taking a risograph printing course at the School of Visual Arts, which I've given out with jar sales.
